Belieze 1998 - Blackbirds Caye
In March of 1993 eight divers spent eight days at Blackbird Caye Resort on Turneffe Atoll, a two hour boat ride from Belize City Belize. The group made dives on Becenta Wall, The Elbow, Blue Hole, Long Cay, and Half Moon Cay. On one dive we had dolphins following us. This area is known for its huge sponge coral. Most dives had very little current. The thatched high peaked roof huts were neat to stay in. We did have high winds on most days but were still able to dive. Those on the trip were; Rob Smith, Al Smith, Rick Schmidt, Liz Schmidt, Bernard Altenburg, Lois Altenburg Slim Johnson, and Seal.
