Edition 3
The Fargo Boat show at the dome is over and it was nice visiting
with those of you that attended. Our next show, the Red River Valley Sportsmen's
Boat, Camping, and Vacation Show, will be the 27 and 28th of Feb. and March
1 and 2 at the Fargo Dome. If you know of anyone interested in trying
scuba have them bring a swimming suit and towel and stop by our booth and
they can try scuba with one of our staff as we will have a swimming pool
at the dome. Last year was our first year trying this and it was a big
success.
Our dive group just got back from eight days in the sun with five full days
of diving in Cozumel. Thirty one of us enjoyed great weather and some of
the best diving we have had in years. Lots of big spotted eagle rays, turtles,
and even one large Jew fish. Scuba Club did an excellent job of taking
care of our group and as usual the meals were excellent. We are all ready
looking forward to next year. January 2004 we will again be headed back
to Cozumel for a week. We will again be going back to Truk lagoon and
while there we are also going on the either Yap or Palau. Truk is the best
shipwreck diving in the world and the wrecks are not all that deep so skill
level for most is just being a conformable diver. The only complaint we
got last time we went to Truk was that it was such a long flight, so as
long as we are traveling that far we will spend five extra days diving on
one of the other islands. Yap is known for its Manta Rays and Hammerhead
Sharks diving whereas Palau is known for its great abundance of large fish
life and excellent wall diving. The currents are stronger here which makes
it the only disadvantage of going to Palau. I should have more information
on this great trip by the next email newsletter.
Now to turn to the more chilly side we are planning an ice diving class for
the 7, 8, and 9 of March with the classroom on Friday evening the 7 and
the dives on Sat. the 8 and Sunday the 9. If wanting to do the dry suit
part that will be done on Thursday evening the 6th. We have about 4 signed
up so far and would encourage anyone else interested to give us a call.
You must either have an advanced rating or 100 logged dives to take the
ice diving class. We are looking forward to a new and exciting year and
hope we can serve you as being the only full service dive center in the
lakes area. Sea you on the bottom
