Here we are in to Sept. and the lakes are still in the 70+ degree temp and thermoclines are down to almost 30 feet.

I have had quite a few inquires about doing a wreck diving trip on the north shore of Lake Superior .  We are looking at the dates of Sept. 10, 11, 12 or 17, 18, 19 depending on which weekend works out for the most wanting to go.   Price will include transportation, lodging, and dives on the wrecks.   Not included are meals and air fills.  Depending on when we leave on Friday we will dive either 3 or 4 wrecks.  One on Friday, two on Sat. and one on Sunday getting back late Sunday afternoon.  If we get up there in time we will dive the remains of a tug boat by the Knife River on Gull Island .  Saturday morning we will dive the Maderia and Saturday afternoon we will dive the Hesper.  Sunday morning we dive the Ely which lies off the break water in Two Harbors and if there is enough interest we will also dive the main break water area which is a good place to look for fishing lures. I recommend that you learn as much about the history of the wrecks we dive so it will make it more interesting to dive on them.  I have websites and information on each wreck at the dive center.

I am in the process of arranging lodging so I can put the price of the trip together.  The price per person will also depend on how many divers do the trip.  The more that go the cheaper it will be per person.  I know that this is short notice but if you are interested let me know as soon as possible as I need to reserve rooms as soon as possible.

I have an open water class going this weekend and also an advanced class.  I have two interested in the Nitrox class and will run that within the next week.  I also have two that want to take the Rescue diver class and if I get two more I will run a class.

Ocean Reef has extended their special till the middle of Sept. so if you are still interested in purchasing a full face mask this is the time to do it.

By the middle of Sept we should know more about the dates and rates for the Cozumel trip.  Please let us know if you are planning on going so I can reserve rooms for the trip.  Price should be around $1500.00 dollars.

Our crew has been busy the last three days working on the yacht on Big Detroit on Monday and Tuesday and putting moorings at Fair Hills Resort on Pelican Lake .  It was sad to see the old anchorage we brought out of the lake had Zebra Mussels on them.  Even a pair of swim goggles had Zebra mussels in them.   Remember that if you dive in Pelican Lake that you dry all your scuba gear completely for at least 5 days and use hot water inside your BC to kill any of the small critters that might be going along for the ride.  Let's not transport them to our other diving lake.

We still have quite a bit of rental gear to closeout and one used 80cf steel tank to sell on consignment.  We also have two used AL 80cf cylinders with current hydros to sell at a great price.
