Bottom Time E-Mail News Archives

Most of the lakes in the area have no ice left on them.  Thank you to Landon Usher, Chris Winter, Steve Lindquist, Darrin Watco, and Mark Wohlert for helping in the pool for the sports show in DL this last weekend.  We enjoyed talking to people coming through the show and enjoyed watching those that tried scuba for the first time.

As I have stated in past issues of Bottom Time the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is implementing new programs to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species in Minnesota waters. They will be doing spot inspections on boats being transported on Minnesota highways and any boater will be stopped if hauling a water craft down the road with a plug in. Our commercial and salvage crew have gone through a training course and testing through the Minnesota DNR to be able to work in Minnesota waters.  As divers we also need to do our part to prevent the spread of Zebra Mussels. Once they get into a lake there is no way to get rid of them so that is why it is so important to prevent their introduction into any body of water.  Here are some guidelines to follow for scuba gear.

Detroit Lakes Class starts next week and classes will start in Mahnomen, Fergus Falls , and West Fargo toward the end of the April or early May.  Classes have been filling so get signed up early.  We will have a summer class in June and one in August.  There will be no July class this year in DL as they will be cleaning the pool.

We are still getting prices together for our 2013 trip to the Caribbean in January and if you need more information let me know.
