Bottom Time E-Mail News Archives

It has been very busy here at the dive center with just finishing up July 4 week.  Weather was great so there were more divers out spending time underwater.

Those spearfishing have had a great time even though we learned that Buffalo fish are a tough fish for the spear to penetrate. Rich Schmidt speared a nice 15 pounder when we were at Long Lake east of Elizabeth.  We had reports of big carp in South Lida so Rick and I headed down there last night and did not even see one.  As they say you should have been here yesterday. Those that have taken the spearfishing class we can start spearing so get in touch with us.   Those diving were Rick Schmidt, Pat Johnston, Chris Winter and Seal.  The surface temperature was 86.7 and the fish were close to the surface so we just snorkeled and did not need wetsuits.

Here are a couple of pictures from the Long Lake trip.

Some of the lakes went through an early bloom and are starting to clear up again. This is the warmest water that we have had for a number of years.

We still have the 100 cu. ft. steel cylinder and the owner would like to get it sold so if you are looking for a good deal this is the one.

If you have not finished your checkouts please contact the dive center and get them set up.
