It looks like we have an overwhelming response for the Fiji trip.  Dates are locked in and they are Jan. 2 through Jan. 12, 2016.  Please call for prices and a packet on the trip. This is will be our second time taking a group to one of the best diving spots in the world. Beqa Lagoon Resort is rated as one of the best dive destinations in the world. They now have their own Shark dive location and have spent over a million dollars on upgrades at the resort. I have 12 spots reserved and the trip is filling fast so let us know so we can save a spot for you on the trip.

The ice diving class will be March 28 here at the dive center.  We have 3 signed up for the class so far.

Rick and Liz Schmidt did a live-a-board trip in Hawaii in Jan. and while they were there Rick did a night Manta Ray dive and here is a link to watch the video he shot.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lTIv1GhLAxU Rick says that the Manta Rays come in to feed on plankton that is attracted to the diver’s lights.  Excellent video Rick. 

Here is a link on diving with full face masks.  It has some excellent points but I disagree with some of the cons the author presented.  He states; It is harder to clear.  With the Ocean Reef mask all you have to do is look down and hit the purge and it clears itself.  Harder to put on.  This is a case of being properly trained in the use of the mask.  The Ocean Reef mask with the six strap placement is easy to put on and adjust and fast to get off in an emergency. Dropped Mask   Here again the Ocean Reef mask with the six straps makes it more secure than other full face masks so there is very little chance of have a dropped mask. Chatter Underwater   The mask can be used without a comm. system and if you do like to listen to anyone else you can always leave the battery out.  The group I dive with or pretty conservative using them but realize that it nice to have them when needed.  I do notice that there is more chatter when it is new to a diver but seems to subside with use.

Class dates are now set up for Mahnomen.  We are also offering a week class in Mahnomen. You can go to the website to get the dates.  We are still working on getting a place to teach in the FM area.
