Edition 20
We have had a light dusting of snow but it did not stay as long as it did
south of here about 100 miles. Lakes are not froze yet so vis should
be getting better as fall progresses, so we still should have some great diving.
Just returned from our annual diving trade show (DEMA) which was held in Las
Vegas this past week. Spent four days at the convention and still did not
see everything. There are a lot of new and exciting dive products out for
the coming season.
One of the items that caught my eye for this part of the country is called
the Instant
Heat Re-Heater. It is a reusable heat pack that comes in different sizes
that can be used inside your wet or dry suit to help keep you warm or can be
used for any outdoor activity when you need to stay warm. Recently
developed, the RE-HEATER Heat Pack provides instant, portable and reusable heat.
It's as easy to use as 1-2-3, and can be used over and over again for years.
At the touch of a button, this amazing device reaches temperatures of up to 130
degrees F and will continue to generate heat for up to 2 hours. It can be
used up to 500 times by putting it in boiling water. There are 7 sizes and
price starts at 8.95 for the smallest. We will be handling a couple of
different sizes here at the dive center.
Ocean Reef now has a heads up display that can be added to your full face
mask if you have one and will come as an option on all new masks sold. It
uses lights to tell you your depth and remaining air pressure. I will
discuss some more of these new products in upcoming emails. This is the
first time that the convention has been held in the fall and I think the show
was well attended.
If ice conditions are right we plan on holding our first ice dive before
Christmas so if you want to join us drop an email and I will put you on the
list.
If you are having trouble finding a Christmas gift for your diver stop in and
we will try to help you select a dive item for them.
Sea you on the bottom.
